Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Choosing the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean-view studio with pools, hot tubs, & WiFi - dogs & snowbirds OK has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
