Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Remodel In Process Wide Oceanview-Steps 2 Beach-Kingston Plantation-Pool-HotTub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
