Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Winter Rates! Oceanfront Studio w\/ Full Kitchen! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
