How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Pet Friendly, Direct Oceanfront, True One Bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, email the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
