Our top Rental property booking tips:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Premier Myrtle Beach House-great location to beach, golf, restaurants & shopping has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
