How to get the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Queen Studio 4th Floor- Oceanfront Comfort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
