Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Huge oceanfront pet friendly home with large yard has 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
