Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your Myrtle Beach rental:

  • First, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Wyndham SeaWatch
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
