Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Wyndham SeaWatch
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
