Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Wyndham SeaWatch
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
