Finding the best vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Wyndham SeaWatch
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

During your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
