Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Getting the best value:
- To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Wyndham SeaWatch
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
