Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Seas the Day by the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
