Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Spacious 3 bdrm condo at Magnolia Point MB has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
