Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- To find the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking the rightrental home:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. B255 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Cozy Coastal Escape has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
