Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. This comfortable beach house in Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms with two baths has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
