Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the perfect rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 1139A in Ocean Lakes. 6BR\/3B. Just 2 min walk to the beach. has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
