Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • To start, have your group select the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3rd floor beach escape w\/ great resort amenities, views, WiFi, and more has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Document any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
