Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family agree to trip dates and a budget.

More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
