Rental home tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
