Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pelican's Landing Unit 409 - Ocean view has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
