Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Views 2X Covered Patios Walk to Restaurants has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
