Tips to get the very best rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.
How to select the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean View 2X Covered Patios (By Beach Star) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
