Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your group agree to a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Coastal Comfort Ocean View 2BDR Condo 3rd Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
