Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book yourrental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
