Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. NEW Beautiful Home *2 miles from Beach* Centrally located *Comfortable Green has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
