Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- First, have your family select the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. New HIGH Floor, Pools, Gorgeous Studio at Palace! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
