Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated-Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Suite With Fireplace! - Atlantica 452 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is best for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
