How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Front One Bedroom Condo with separate living area has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
