Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- First, have your family select date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanside - Marriott's OceanWatch Villas - Upscale Resort Villa On The Beach! Spacious! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
