Our top Rental property booking tips:
Sticking to a budget:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Bright and airy two story Four bedroom villa steps to the ocean! Large condo! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
