How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • First, have your group agree to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Wyndham SeaWatch
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
