Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beautiful and Peaceful Golf Condo in River Oaks. Less than 5 miles to beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
