Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Gorgeous ocean view - remodeled 2-bedroom 10th floor condo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
