Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestvacation home:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Booking now for 2025! Awesome 3BR\/2BA home in Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
