Booking the best rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- To book the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Two bedroom home on the south end of Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Have a great stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
