Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Choosing the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Two bedroom home on the south end of Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
